Reading the calendar

Blocks, busy time, today, the views, dragging a block to a new time, and what happens when a meeting lands.

Updated 9 September 2026

What you are looking at

  • Blue blocks are work Pensova placed. The title is the task’s.
  • Grey blocks are everything already on the calendars you count: meetings, appointments, practice, dinner.
  • Today is tinted, with a red line at the current time.
  • All-day events sit in a strip above the grid.

Views

Day, 3 days, 5 days and Week, from the switcher at the top. Week starts on your first day of the week and, when that day is one you work, shows only working days. The arrows move by the same span; Now returns to today. On a phone the grid scrolls sideways for the wider views.

Dragging a block

Drag a blue block to another time or day. It snaps to quarter hours, keeps its length, and moves in Google Calendar as well. A block you placed by hand is kept there on every replan afterwards: the scheduler treats it as fixed and lays other work around it. Editing the task’s duration, deadline, priority or split setting releases it again.

A drop is refused if it would overlap another of Pensova’s blocks, if the time is more than a day in the past, or if it is beyond the fourteen days the scheduler plans ahead. Meetings are not checked: you chose the time.

Moving or deleting in Google Calendar

Move one of Pensova’s events in Google and the app keeps your change, exactly as if you had dragged it here. Delete one and the task shows as unscheduled rather than pretending it is still booked.

When a meeting lands on placed work

Within the quarter hour, the background job notices the busy pattern changed and replans. The displaced work moves to the next free time; nothing else on your calendar is touched, and blocks you placed by hand stay put.
